Open Positions
Remote · US-Based Clinic
Help patients feel heard, validated, and supported — from the very first call.
Location: Remote (US-based)
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time
Focus: Functional Medicine / Women’s Health / Thyroid
About the Role
We are a US health and wellness clinic focused on functional medicine, female hormone health, and thyroid care, and we are looking for a compassionate Remote Registered Nurse to be the first voice our patients hear. In this role, you will guide new and returning patients by phone — answering clinical questions, helping them understand our care programs, supporting scheduling, and coordinating their ongoing care. Every call is an opportunity to make a patient feel listened to, validated, and supported. If you love patient-centered work, communicate with warmth and clarity, and want a meaningful remote role, this could be the right fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls, primarily from new patients, warmly and clearly.
- Answer general clinical questions about the clinic's services from a nursing perspective, within RN scope, escalating appropriately to providers when needed.
- Help direct new patients to the care program that best fits their needs — wellness, hormone balance, thyroid care, or related functional medicine programs.
- Discuss care package options, including 6-month care packages, in a compassionate, informative, no-pressure way, helping patients feel comfortable saying yes when it is the right fit for them.
- Handle all incoming calls: new-patient inquiries, scheduling, and rescheduling for existing patients.
- Proactively reach out to inactive patients to re-engage them and coordinate re-booking and ongoing care.
- Coordinate care: communicate with providers, document interactions in the EMR/CRM, follow up on next steps, and ensure smooth handoffs.
- Maintain accurate call notes, patient records, and follow-up tasks.
- Embody the clinic's warm, validating voice — patients should feel welcomed, heard, and understood on every interaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in functional medicine, women's health and hormones, or thyroid care.
- Prior clinic, concierge, or telehealth patient-facing role.
- Background in sales, patient coordination, secretarial, or front-desk / reception work.
- Care coordination or patient-navigation experience.
- Experience with EMR/CRM systems and scheduling platforms.
- Outbound patient outreach, reactivation, or follow-up campaign experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You are a compassionate listener who is confident navigating sensitive topics like hormones, thyroid conditions, and women’s wellness. You are service-minded and able to discuss care packages helpfully — without pressure or hard-sell tactics — helping patients feel comfortable committing when the program is truly the right fit. You are organized, self-directed, and calm on a busy phone schedule, and you want to be part of a small, mission-driven team where what you do each day genuinely makes a difference in how patients feel.
Schedule Options
This role is open as either full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate. We primarily work standard clinic hours, with flexibility built in to accommodate patient call patterns.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, with full details discussed during the interview.
Why Join Us
- A fully remote role with a mission-driven functional medicine clinic focused on real patient outcomes.
- Comprehensive training on our care programs — you do not need to come in already fluent in our protocols or packages.
- Every call matters: patients come to us to feel heard, validated, and supported, and you are the one who makes that real.
Pay: $16.00 – $22.00 per hour
Work Location: In person

Oklahoma City, OK (Fully Remote or Hybrid) • Part-Time
Reports to: Dr. Cassie Smith, MD, Founder
About Modern Endocrine
Modern Endocrine is a functional and integrative endocrinology practice founded in 2020 by Dr. Cassie Smith, MD — a dual board-certified physician (endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism, and internal medicine) recognized as a 2022 Top Doctor by 405 Magazine.
We treat the whole person, not just the symptoms, using a personalized, preventative, and holistic model built around Dr. Smith’s “10 Stages to Ultimate Health”: Cell Membranes, Gut Health, Micronutrients, Hormones, Nutrition, Movement & Exercise, Sleep, Light Exposure, Stress, and Relationships & Sexual Wellness.
Today we serve thousands of patients across 47 states, blending in-person care at our Oklahoma City clinic with remote telehealth visits. Our services span metabolic health and weight loss (PCOS, insulin resistance), thyroid disorders, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), gut health, sexual wellness, longevity, and vitamin & mineral optimization.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Nurse Practitioner to join Dr. Smith and our care team serving patients who are actively seeking a deeper, more investigative approach to their health. This is a part-time role to start (~16–24 hours/week) with a clear path to full-time as our patient panel grows if you would like.
You’ll practice either:
Fully remote (telehealth-only) from any U.S. state where you hold an active NP license, OR
Hybrid — working from our Oklahoma City clinic alongside Dr. Smith for in-person and telehealth visits.
If you don’t yet hold 3+ state licenses you must be willing to obtain a minimum of 3 state licenses but ideally 5-6 state licenses is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct new-patient and follow-up telehealth (and, if hybrid, in-person) visits focused on functional endocrinology, hormone health, thyroid disorders, metabolic health, and gut-related concerns.
Order, interpret, and act on advanced lab work: fasting insulin, fasting glucose, thyroid panels including antibodies, sex hormones, cortisol, micronutrients, MTHFR / methylation markers, and inflammatory markers.
Develop and document individualized treatment plans within our 10 Stages framework.
Prescribe and manage pharmacologic regimens — thyroid medications, bioidentical hormone therapy (creams, pellet coordination), insulin-sensitizing agents, and select peptides — per protocol and within state scope of practice.
Counsel patients on lifestyle interventions: nutrition, intermittent fasting, sleep, stress / cortisol management, micronutrient supplementation, and movement.
Coordinate with Dr. Smith for case consultation, complex presentations, and any in-clinic procedures (HRT pellets if in OKC clinic).
Document visits in our EHR, respond to patient messages in a timely and warm manner, and participate in weekly care-team huddles.
Required Qualifications
Active APRN / NP license in at least 3 U.S. states (more is strongly preferred), OR an active single-state license with willingness to apply for additional state licenses. Multi-state licensure is essential because we serve patients in 47 states.
Current national certification (FNP, AG-ACNP, or similar).
Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one.
2+ years of clinical experience as an NP — endocrinology, internal medicine, weight loss / metabolic health, women’s health, or functional / integrative medicine strongly preferred.
Strong comfort with telehealth platforms and remote patient communication.
Empathy, compassion, and an instinct to listen before prescribing — non-negotiable for our practice.
Preferred Qualifications
Background or formal training in functional medicine, integrative medicine, or gut health (IFMCP, A4M, or equivalent a plus).
Experience with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (pellets, creams, thyroid).
Experience managing thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s, Graves’, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism) and insulin resistance / PCOS.
Prior telehealth experience.
Who You Are
You’re the kind of provider who:
Takes the time to actually listen. Our patients come to us after years of being dismissed — the visit has to feel different.
Is intellectually curious and genuinely enjoys learning. Functional medicine is a rapidly evolving field, and Dr. Smith invests heavily in team education.
Balances clinical confidence with humility — willing to consult Dr. Smith on complex cases rather than guess.
Loves to teach. Patients leave our visits understanding why they’re doing what they’re doing.
Has high emotional intelligence and can hold space for patients navigating chronic, sometimes frustrating symptoms.
Are willing to spend 30-60 minutes with each patient so all concerns are met and addressed.
What We Offer
Competitive hourly compensation tied to patient visits
Reimbursement for additional state license applications, where applicable.
Mentorship directly from Dr. Cassie Smith — case reviews, protocol training, and ongoing functional-medicine education. Access to her provider course ($10,000 value)
Flexible scheduling: design a part-time schedule that fits your life.
Complimentary in-clinic services for team members where appropriate (e.g., red light therapy, cold plunge, ect).
A mission-driven team that takes the patient experience as seriously as the medicine.
